Scottish national team supporters flocked to social media on Saturday, to make their feelings about boss Steve Clarke’s position clear.
The tartan army was back a short time ago.
After recovering from a heartbreak in the World Cup qualifiers showdown with Ukraine thanks to a 2-0 loss to Armenia, Clarke and his teammates. made the trip to Dublin, with a view to a 2nd consecutive triumph in the League of Nations.
Ultimately, however, to say that such efforts by the evening’s visitors failed would be an understatement.
Instead, a frantic display from an Irish side who had scratched two paltry goals in 12 previous Nations League outings ultimately resulted in Scotland being killed 3-0.
Alan Browne was first on target for the hosts, before Troy Parrott’s arrival just on the half hour mark was stunningly completed by Michael Obafemi early in the 2nd half, completing the score at the stadium Aviva.

‘Must go’
On the back of an equally alarming display and result from their side, then, it should come as no surprise to hear that the Scottish faithful were absolutely up in arms on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter in droves to respond to Ireland’s 3rd goal of the night, visitors fans took aim at one man and one man only, calling for manager Steve Clarke to be sacked immediately:
Can we get rid of Clarke now?
…Please

if @Scotland don’t fire Clarke tonight, they should play the next game at Stirling Albion to keep up with ticket demand.

It’s done Clarke now. We have all been deceived by the decent racing of the past year. Not anymore

Ireland scored 3 goals today after managing to score once in their last 8 Nations League games combined. Time to go, Clarke.
