Will Brazil win two out of two on this Far East tour?

On Thursday, the Seleção started the month by beating Korea Republic 5-1 at Sangam Stadium in Seoul.

Richarlison broke the deadlock before a pair of penalties from Neymar, followed by late strikes from Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus, secured victory.

Tite’s side made it through the World Cup qualifiers, winning 14 out of 17 matches, conceding just five times in those matches.

It means the five-time world champions have lost just one of their last 26 internationals, last summer’s Copa América final.

With the Superclásico de las Américas in Melbourne having been cancelled, it’s the last game of the month for Brazil, so will they win again?

In Asia, Japan have also successfully qualified for the World Cup and will therefore now participate in a seventh consecutive edition of the tournament.

Hajime Moriyasu’s side started this international window by demolishing Paraguay 4-1 at the Sapporo Dome on Thursday.

Takuma Asano, Daichi Kamada, Kaoru Mitoma and Ao Tanaka all took aim in a decisive victory.

In the process, the Samurai Blue will face Ghana then Chile or Tunisia in the Kirin Cup.

However, it’s the game that the locals are excited about, so can Japan pull off a surprise at the National Stadium in Tokyo?

After losing in a glamorous friendly on Thursday, will Korea Republic bounce back?

In their first of four friendlies this month, South Korea hosted five-time world champions Brazil in a sold-out Sangam Stadium.

Hwang Ui-jo actually made it 1-1 on the half hour mark, only for the visitors to score four times to leave Seoul 5-1 winners.

Despite the scoreline, there were plenty of positives for Paulo Bento’s side as they prepare for an equally tough test ahead at the World Cup.

Coming this week, the Taegeuk Warriors will face Paraguay and then Egypt in much more winnable friendlies.

Before then, will the Republic of Korea offer something to celebrate for the local Daejeon audience?

Chile, meanwhile, failed to qualify for back-to-back World Cups, despite winning the Copa América in 2015 and 2016 just before this crisis.

So the road to 2026 starts here for Eduardo Berizzo’s side who have lost four of their last five competitive games.

La Roja will travel to Japan after this game to face Tunisia and then the hosts or Ghana in the Kirin Cup.

In this one, facing a team lacking in motivation and quality, South Korea will try its luck at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium.
