Arsenal fans are convinced they spotted a Gabriel Jesus transfer hint in Erling Haaland’s announcement

Eagle-eyed Arsenal fans think they’ve spotted a clue that Gabriel Jesus would be closer than expected in Manchester City’s announcement of Erling Haaland.

The Cityzens announced their long-awaited capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, with the striker unveiled in a Manchester City kit on social media on Monday morning.

But it was the club’s statement that caught the attention of several Arsenal fans. At the bottom of the announcement, Manchester City revealed that a shirt number for Haaland would be “confirmed in due course”.

“Haaland shirts will be available once his squad number is confirmed in due course,” they claimed.

And, given that the Dortmund man spent two seasons with the No.9 adorned on the back of his black and yellow jersey in Germany, and also wears the No.9 for Norway, it is believed he will take that number in Manchester.

However, the man who currently owns it is none other than Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus, a fact not lost on the Gunners fanbase as seen below.

Will Arsenal land Jesus?

Of course, despite Arsenal’s obvious interest, they aren’t the only ones who love the Brazilian.

Tottenham and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in Manchester City’s current No.9, while Arsenal’s lack of Champions League football could have weakened their ground despite their clear need for a No. 9.

It looks like everything will become clear in the next few days.
